Expansion joint

1. Axial metal expansion joints are used to absorb axial displacement, i.e., displacement along the axis of the expansion joint.
• Maximum axial absorption capacity up to approximately 200 mm
• Capable of absorbing small amounts of lateral and angular displacement
• Unrestrained type: Absorbs displacement in all planes. Attention must be paid to the axial thrust generated by pressure.

Equipped with multi-ply stainless steel bellows; available in various designs to accommodate flow liners, special materials, and other flange configurations. Three types of expansion joints—small, medium, and large absorption capacity—are available for each pressure class and nominal diameter.

XS-ABN type – Axial expansion joint with loose flanges

XS-AFN type – Axial expansion joint with fixed flanges

XS-ARN type – Axial expansion joint with welding ends

2. Universal metal expansion joints:
• Absorb axial, lateral, and angular displacement
• Unrestrained type: Absorbs displacement in all planes. Attention must be paid to the axial thrust generated by pressure.

Equipped with multi-ply stainless steel bellows, suitable for various flow liners, special materials, and a wide range of flange and nozzle designs.

• XS-UBN type – Universal expansion joint with loose flanges

• XS-UFN type – Universal expansion joint with fixed flanges

• XS-URN type – Universal expansion joint with welding ends

3. Lateral metal expansion joints: Lateral expansion joints are designed to absorb lateral displacement, i.e., displacement transverse to the pipe axis.
• Absorb lateral displacement
• Single-plane type constrained by tie rods
• Universal type constrained by universal structural components
• Structural components absorb axial thrust (do not absorb axial displacement)

Equipped with multi-ply stainless steel bellows, suitable for various flow liners, special materials, and a wide range of flange and nozzle designs.

XS-LBR type – Lateral expansion joint with loose flanges, compensates for displacement in all planes

XS-LFR type – Lateral expansion joint with fixed flanges, compensates for displacement in all planes

XS-LRN type – Lateral expansion joint with welding ends, compensates for displacement in a single plane

XS-LRR/LRK type – Lateral expansion joint with welding ends, compensates for displacement in all planes

XS-LBS (DN50-DN2000) – Sound-attenuating lateral expansion joint with loose flanges

4. Angular expansion joints
Depending on the design, the external hardware is configured either as a single hinge to absorb unidirectional movement or as a universal hinge to absorb angular movement in all directions. Typically, two or three angular expansion joints are installed in a piping system to form a hinge system for compensation purposes.

Equipped with multi-ply stainless steel bellows, suitable for various flow liners, special materials, and a wide range of flange and nozzle designs.

In our standard range, we offer three types of expansion joints based on pressure rating and nominal diameter, as well as low, medium, and high movement absorption capacity.

XS-WBN/WBK type – Angular expansion joint with loose flanges

XS-WRN/WRK type – Angular expansion joint with welding ends
